Financial Manager (Contract) in Vancouver
Job title: Financial Manager (Contract)
Location: Vancouver, BC | Hybrid
Initial 3-month contract (strong possibility of extension)
My client in the private investment industry is seeking a senior Finance / Accounting professional for an immediate 3-month contract supporting a portfolio of investment entities, trusts, and retained asset companies.
Responsibilities
This is a hands-on, compliance-heavy role with a strong balance-sheet and Excel focus, suited to someone who enjoys independent work, structure, and technical depth. What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare high volumes of financial statements (Excel-based, balance-sheet driven)
- Full accounting for multiple trusts and investment entities
- Quarterly and annual reporting packages
- Cash flow management and quarterly distributions
- Tax compliance support (T2, T3, T4, T5, GST, T5013)
- Reconciliations, controls, and process improvement
- Liaise with external accountants and respond to CRA requests
- Light AP/AR as required
- Daily work in Excel, with accounting software such as QuickBooks
What we’re looking for
- CPA designation required
- Ideally 10–15 years’ experience
- Public practice background plus Controller-level industry experience
- Strong compliance, reporting, and tax knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Independent, organized, steady communicator
This is a trust-based, professional environment with minimal micromanagement. Ideal for a senior contractor who enjoys bringing clarity and order to complex financial structures.
Contract may extend and could be considered for permanent if there is mutual fit.
