Working closely with leadership, the Senior Accountant ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes while maintaining strong internal controls. The role contributes to financial planning, audit preparation, and continuous improvement of systems and procedures, all within a mission‑driven environment focused on accountability and long‑term stability.

What You’ll Do

Join our team as a Senior Accountant in Northern BC and support essential community programs.
  • Manage core accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger oversight.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements in alignment with PSAB and fund accounting standards.
  • Support annual budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
  • Assist with grant reporting, funding compliance, and year‑end audit preparation.
  • Mentor junior finance staff and strengthen financial processes and internal controls.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • CPA designation (or active progress toward completion).
  • Strong understanding of PSAB, fund accounting, and public‑sector or not‑for‑profit financial principles.
  • Proficiency in Sage 300 and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, and organizational abilities.
