Property Accountant
North Vancouver, BC
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience
Burke Recruiting is working on a search for a Property Accountant with a well-established property management company based in North Vancouver.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong property accounting experience who enjoys working with monthly reporting, reconciliations, rent rolls, CAM recoveries, operating costs, budgets, and property managers.
The role will suit someone who is hands-on, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy property management environment with multiple deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties
- Complete bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain rent rolls, tenant billing, and lease-related accounting records
- Assist with CAM reconciliations, operating cost recoveries, and property tax reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and financial statement working papers
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Work closely with property managers to resolve accounting questions
- Support AP, AR, collections, and expense allocation processes as needed
- Assist with audit preparation and year-end reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, workflow, and reporting timelines
What We Are Looking For
- Property accounting or real estate accounting experience
- Experience with commercial and/or residential properties
- CAM reconciliation or operating cost recovery experience preferred
- Strong reconciliation, reporting, and month-end skills
- Good Excel skills
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organization and follow-through
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with property managers and internal teams

Compensation
Salary is expected to be in the range of $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience.
