A Payroll and HR professional with over five years of experience supporting both unionized and non-union workplaces across public sector and private organizations. CPHR and Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) candidate with hands-on expertise across the full employee lifecycle—payroll, recruitment, employee relations, benefits, pensions, health and safety, and leave administration. Known for sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to interpret collective agreements and employment legislation. Proficient in ADP, PGI, Apollo, Business Central 365, and BambooHR. Seeking ~$95K.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years payroll experience combined with 4+ years HR experience
  • Industries served: education (school district), construction (crane company), agriculture/automation, manufacturing (food processing)
  • Full-cycle payroll processing for hourly and salary staff across union and non-union environments
  • High-volume payroll expertise: processed 150+ timecards, teacher payrolls, special pay runs
  • Collective agreement interpretation and application for pay, leaves, benefits, and pension eligibility
  • Benefits and pension administration: group benefits, RRSP, Teachers’ Pension Plan, SIP forms
  • Leave administration: maternity, parental, WCB/ICBC claims, return-to-work coordination
  • Recruitment and onboarding: full-cycle recruitment, job postings, screening, orientations
  • Employee relations: attendance management, progressive discipline, performance management
  • Policy development: created and updated employee handbooks, SOPs, and company policies
  • Health and safety: JHSC participation, workplace injury investigations, first aid reporting
  • Bilingual (English-Punjabi) supporting clear communication between employees and management
