    Job Type:
    Hybrid work model

My client in the private investment sector is hiring a Financial Manager to take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and trust accounting across a diverse portfolio of luxury residential and commercial properties, investment entities, and retained asset companies.

This is a senior, highly technical role suited for someone who enjoys independent work, a mix of public practice and industry responsibilities, and wants long-term stability with a well-established private investment group.

The environment is professional, entrepreneurial, flexible, and ideal for someone who prefers autonomy over micromanagement. After onboarding, a hybrid schedule is expected, typically combining office and home-based work.

    What you will do

This position carries a heavy compliance and reporting focus, along with a variety of finance-related projects.

    Core responsibilities:

    • Prepare large amounts of Financial Statements annually (balance sheet driven, Excel based)
    • Full accounting for multiple trusts and investment entities
    • Assist with tax planning and compliance requirements
    • Prepare quarterly distributions
    • Cash flow management across various entities
    • Prepare financial packages for quarterly meetings
    • Maintain and strengthen controls and processes for retained asset entities
    • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting, ratios, and lender deliverables
    • Complete T2, T3, T4, T5, GST, and T5013 filings
    • Support documentation for transactions and accounting entries
    • Reconcile investments and related party accounts
    • Light bookkeeping as required, including AP and AR
    • Liaise with external accounting firms for year ends, audits, and tax filings
    • Respond to CRA audit requests
    • Lead financing and refinancing work for ongoing projects
    • Assist with ad-hoc projects and additional duties as needed
    • Work in Excel daily, with familiarity in accounting software such as QuickBooks

    What we’re looking for

    • Approximately 7 to 10 years of progressive experience
    • CPA designation required
    • Mix of public practice and industry experience
    • Strong compliance and financial reporting background
    • Advanced Excel skills, comfortable preparing full FS in Excel
    • Solid tax knowledge
    • Strong communicator with steady, consistent follow-through
    • Independent, organized, and able to manage large workloads with limited oversight
    • Someone looking for long-term fit, stability, and growth in a private family office environment

    Who thrives in this role

You enjoy working independently, handling a high volume of technical work, and wearing multiple hats. You’re structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment where you are trusted to run your own day. You value stability, privacy, and a mature workplace with flexibility and strong benefits.
