Property Accountant – North Vancouver (Commercial Real Estate)
A well-established and growing real estate property management company is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team in North Vancouver. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with property management experience who thrives in a collaborative environment and is looking to grow with a stable, team-oriented firm.
Reporting to the Controller, the Property Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of commercial, retail, and industrial properties. This includes financial reporting, tenant reconciliations, budgeting, and year-end support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident with systems like Spectra or Yardi, and brings strong communication skills to support internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

- Set up leases in Spectra and prepare rental notices
- Apply rent receipts and process chargebacks and miscellaneous billings
- Post approved rent rolls and reconcile tenant accounts
- File GST, PST rebates, and Parking Tax returns
- Review general ledger and prepare journal entries for month-end
- Prepare monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance reports
- Assist with annual operating budgets and year-end reconciliations
- Respond to tenant inquiries and auditor requests
- Handle property tax billings for applicable tenants
- Assist in setting up new buildings in Spectra
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Track critical dates and support Controller as needed
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, reporting, or assurance
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation completed or in progress
- Experience in property management accounting is preferred
- Proficiency with Spectra and/or Yardi Voyager/Breeze
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Perks:
- Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 annually – depending on your experience.
- RRSP matching up to 3% of annual salary
