New Staff Accountant Role in Vancouver

    Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant

    Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 (based on experience)
    Full-time – Hybrid

    About the Role

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a smaller organization where you can make a direct impact. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the Controller with accounting tasks, and assisting with some HR administrative duties, such as benefits administration and employee recordkeeping.

    Key Responsibilities

    Accounting & Bookkeeping

    • Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Prepare journal entries and monthly reconciliations
    • Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
    • Maintain the general ledger and support month-end close
    • Monitor expenses, process vendor invoices, and handle vendor management

    HR & Administration

    • Assist with benefits administration and employee onboarding paperwork
    • Maintain HR files and employee records
    • Support compliance with HR and accounting policies
    • Provide general administrative support as needed

    Qualifications

    Professional staff accountant reviewing financial reports and collaborating with team in a modern Vancouver office
    We are hiring a skilled Staff Accountant to join our collaborative finance team in a versatile, hybrid role.
    • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 3+ years of bookkeeping or staff accounting experience
    • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations
    • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong technical skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
    • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
