Our well established client in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Payroll/Bookkeeper for a 3 month temporary assignment. This role will become a permanent part time role but initially coverage is needed for the payroll duties.
This is a stable and growing organization in the legal industry.
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable payroll professional with experience managing a small payroll and grow into handling bookkeeping duties.
Responsibilities:
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for client’s employees (16 employees)
- Maintain payroll records including hours, deductions, benefits, adjustments, and statutory withholdings
- Issue ROEs accurately and on time
- Prepare and file T4s and T4As
- Complete year-end payroll filings with CRA and ensure federal/provincial compliance
- Process payroll in Quickbooks Desktop
- Meet all payroll remittance and reporting deadlines
- Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions using Cosmolex law software
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain vendor and customer records.
Qualifications:
- PCP Certification is an asset (not a requirement)
- Proven payroll experience in a similar role (minimum 2 years)
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Desktop and an asset to be knowledgeable with Cosmolex software
- Experience in the legal profession or similar industry
- Solid knowledge of payroll compliance and CRA requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
