About the Role
The Senior Accountant reporting to the Controller supports full-cycle accounting, project reporting, forecasting, and financial planning. This role combines hands-on accounting with business intelligence and system improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments
- Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and KPIs
- Oversee AP/AR, GST/PST, and corporate tax filings
- Maintain full-cycle accounting for inter-related companies
- Track and reconcile project costs and WIP schedules
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives
- Develop dashboards and reports (Power BI, Excel)
- Supervise junior finance staff and collaborate with operations
Qualifications
- CPA designation or near completion
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in project-based industries preferred
